Sorry if the redesign has confused those of you who haven’t been here in a couple of days. It was killing me that the last design didn’t allow for a blogroll and I’ve found a lot of cool blogs over the last few days that I wanted to follow. So I switched it up, which is a pretty solid design, so I’m happy.
I had so much fun this quiet weekend – between Mannheim Steamroller, coffee with Jennifer, sleeping in (pictured above, I sleep with the laptop stand nearby so I can wheel it up and read your blogs from bed) lunch with Arron – that I didn’t notice that someone had stolen my bike.
Yup, stolen. I locked it up temporarily in front of the building after I got back from the Clay Center Friday afternoon after I picked up the tickets. I walked to the show that night and apparently, thanks to my terrible short-term memory, didn’t notice that the bike was missing. I didn’t need to bike anywhere Saturday, and by the time I realized that I had no clue where the bike was, I looked out front and saw – hidden in the bushes – my broken combination lock.
I wasn’t angry. It was my own stupid fault for being absent-minded. I felt more bad than anything because that bike was given to me – technically we traded – by Thomas. I don’t need-need a bike, but I don’t drive, so biking was convenient transportation. I’m going to see if I can ask Dad if I can bring my bike back from St. Marys. I have to ask because I left it behind for his use, so I don’t just want to take it if he needs it.
Thomas & Erin picked me up that night so I could finally experience the hot tub that I had a major hand in helping get working. Got to say it was awesome, especially under a cloudless sky and a full moon.
Today was spent trying to write stories and schedule press releases to run at Kanawha Valley Live between now and Friday so I don’t have to go into the office the rest of the week. Taking a week off from West Virginia Watchdog too, so for once, other than writing on this her blog, I have no real responsibilities. Thomas and I escaped to the Charleston Town Center for haircuts. I had to have my Chick-fil-A fix though.
The major goals before I leave for St. Marys, WV, on Wednesday is to do laundry and clean the apartment. She’s not in too bad of shape, but I’d like it to be better before Dad comes to retrieve me. I need to mop the floors and vacuum the carpet in the living room and bedroom.
I was re-friended and contacted by an old friend today, Aaron. He was my best friend for a long time. Met him back in college, he graduated with a Bible degree and became a minister in the Church of Christ. He has had it rough the last few years, first with the death of his mother, now with the death of his father. We had a falling out in 2008 for reasons I don’t feel like bringing up, but we’re burying the hatchet. Life is too short, you know?
